S is for Space is a series of short science fiction stories by American author Ray Bradbury.
Setting
The sixteen short stories throughout S is for Space have the same relative setting. All of these short stories are set in the future, and mainly at night; which adds to the suspense, and excitement of the stories. There seems to be a common trait throughout the stories in S is for Space, rather its with zombies, aliens, or just freakishly mutated humans; one of these three types of "creatures" play a major roll, and has a major impact to the settings of his stories. All of these beings, rather from this world, out of this world, dead or alive, always seem to cause terror or some sort of other troubles, like mind manipulation to name one. Also throughout all of the short stories, because of these beings, there is always someone, or a group of random people or a family running and hiding from these beasts of horror. These people run in all directions, some to addicts, and others to another planet, or just in circles tying to avoid the being that is after them. All of these feats in the settings of his short stories all have these features in common. All of them are set in the future, they are set, of the majority of the time at night, and all of them have some, one of three creatures, after them, invading, or just running around causing mischief. Not only are this stories just science fiction, in the since of the future and all of the futuristic technology, but they all also have a science fiction horror since to them as well. With these three main setting elements combined together along with his suspenseful writing style; they all make good suspenseful, on the edge of your set science fiction horror at some of its best.
